Soar Chapel, Ceredigion

According to my iPhone the weather today was full sun, all day and all over Ceredigion. With this in mind Sarah and I headed south to Tregaron and beyond (into bandit country as she called it) to visit the iconic chapel at Soar. It was worth the effort. The chapel is sited alongside a river with a stream on the one side and golden leaved trees to the other sides (this being autumn). I explored the area a little vefore settling on this vantage point with the road leading into the distance. The iPhone weather assurance was proving somewhat unreliable and clouds were moving in and the sunlight sporadic. I decided on the 10 stop filter to make the clouds a feature rather than a plain dark band at the top of the frame. We explored the area a little more - the inside of the chapel is wonderful. We found a waterfall on the way back to Tregaron (more pictures in Landscape gallery - I particularly like the "three minutes at the waterfall" another 10 stop filter photograph). Despite the weather being less than promised we had a great day out. No chips today - large bar of chocolate eaten yesterday so trying to be good. 145 seconds at f11, Canon 24-70mm lens at 24mm.
