Tangarreg Pools
Tangarreg Pools is an ongoing project to improve the habitat for wildlife on our small patch of land in mid Wales. The land now has three permanent hides for watching and particularly, photographing the local wildlife. There is more information about each hide and the ponds and some videos to demonstrate access to the hides which you can find in the Resources section. The cost of renting a hide is £75.00 for four hours. This means that one person can have the hide for that cost or two or more can share the costs. The reflection hide and rowan hide will take two photographers at a time while the pond hide can comfortably take three although has windows for seven. If you would like to use more than one hide during your visit simply contact me in advance so I can ensure the timings work for all visitors that day.
The various feeders and supports are designed to be adjusted by visitors so you are free to adjust perches etc as you like during your visit. If you are not able to do this and would like my presence for your visit to do this then please discuss with me in advance so we can plan accordingly. You are welcome to bring your own perch if you like! There is a short video in the Resources section showing the stands for perches and the clamps - there are a variety of clamps depending upon the size of the perch. Some perches have holes for peanuts or fat to encourage woodpecker for example.
I offer a half day wildlife photography session where I can support your development and advise on wildlife photography as we use two of the hides and take up other opportunities (eg dragonflies) as available. The cost of this is £120.00
A whole day of tuition using all three hides and take up other opportunities (eg dragonflies) as available. This costs £200.00
There may be other opportunities going on too - frogs and toads spawning, dragonfly emerging or a nest box close to a hide being used. email if you want to add these opportunities during your visit so it can be planned.
Gift vouchers are available - email me at tangarregpools@btinternet.com if interested.
There is ample parking here and indoor space for you to leave coats/bags. Toilet and tea/coffee making facilities are also on site.
Guest wifi access extends to both the Rowan and Pond hides (not the Reflection hide) allowing you to contact me during your visit if needed.
When you book your visit I will send you directions including postcode and 'what3words' locations so you can plan your journey. We are located in Blaenpennal which is about 6 miles north of Tregaron and 13 miles south of Aberystwyth in mid Wales.
